What is the meaning of enlightening?
Enlighten means lighten ourselves. Today you live in lot of stress, a lot of anxiety. That’s because of that you feel very heavy, dragged down and down.
The more and more you meditate you become me lighter and lighter.

How many of you practice meditation regularly?

Most of us don’t practice at all
So, first you know you should understand why are we meditating?
If you think cut off from the world, you are wrong.
Quiet the mind.
Discipline the mind.
To bring focus.
To understand yourself.
Understand the power within you.
For inner peace.
Inner discovery.
To control the thoughts
Most important is to get clarity in life.


Why do we basically meditate? The ultimate aim is to realize ourselves. In a simple language, we meditate basically to control our thoughts and eventually destroy all the thoughts which come in your mind.

The ultimate aim of meditation is to gain complete mastery of your thoughts.
Meditation is not done to cut yourself off ourselves from the outer world but to become a part of the world. You become one with the world.
Your biggest problem is your thoughts.
Your thoughts are coming continuously in your mind and they define you and your world and that is your biggest problem. Suppose i take away your thoughts completely you will be completely blissful. 
If you become thoughtless, you will come to the state of Sat-Chit-Anand.
Because of your thoughts, you are angry, you are depressed, you are upset, you are fearful, you are anxious.
If you are able to become thoughtless, you would become the happiest person in the world.

why do we have thoughts?

The biggest problem is our thoughts.
You think you are not good enough. You think you can’t do this.
That is the cause of our fears, worries. You are not able to do so many things at once but you can’t. You come to say you want to pursue higher studies. You want your dream life, you want to be a sweet and lovable person.
But I cant..
This is only because of a voice telling inside you tells you, "you can't do it" and you cant
Meditation is to destroy that inner voice.
Because…
Because you have come to your natural state of self. If you are able to connect to your natural state of self. There are no thoughts to understand life.

Let’s take animals as an example. 
Animals are actually enlightened. Animals are all enlightened.
Do you think a pet keeps on thinking?
Do you think a pet has any doubt about its identity?
You talk about a dog.
Does dog ever think?
Who am I?
Does he think about the present, past, future, and worries?
If the master comes to the house. He is very happy he is in a state of mind by kissing and licking. If the master is not there it's unhappy also, if he finds some toy it plays with it. If he has a challenge , he will go through it.
What would pet do if he climbs the wall like a monkey he doesn’t get depressed.
So a dog is enlightened and a dog is designed only to be a dog. Every single substance in the world every single animal, everything in the world is designed for its inherent purpose.
So that is the difference between the other things and yourself?
Every animal and everything has their parameter of limits, got their boundary. They have got a particular boundary that I am this.
You will agree with me you cannot judge the ability of a tiger. You cannot judge a tiger Just because it cannot fly. So as a human. You will become complete in your purpose.it is possible you don’t know many other things, but we are complete in what you are here to do.
Today why you have many thoughts because still, you have not understood who you are?

Is to remove those definitions.
Remove those references.
Remover those identifications.
Is to completely realize who you are.
Separate you from your thoughts.
realize you who you are. 
When you meditate. There is no thought.
You feel very energized, very cool, very calm, very happy, you connect to yourself, you get the clarity.

Now understand who is behind your thoughts?

You understand only you are behind your thoughts. Why these thoughts are coming in my mind? Why they are coming? For this, it is very important. You have to understand the meaning of illusion or Maya. I will make you understand maya in a very easy way. If we understood Maya, then we will understand how to be away from maya.

You have to understand you have one power,you have one power which is the power of attraction. You attract what you are today but you don't need to artificially attract. The books on positive thinking .they try to cover you artificially.

That, yes i am rich, I am abundant, I am this,i am that but actually, you are not, so you are not able to attract.
But just by saying that i am abundant, rich we cannot fool nature and life. But yes, positive affirmations do works in certain situations. Which we are going to talk but it’s going to work only in the now,

You cannot do anything artificially, you cannot do it, you cannot do anything in the external world you can’t do in the internal.

It should be present, continuous and it should be the truth. And why do you want to be desired, why do you want to become, just become, the whole secret becomes.
When you become you will automatically attract what is right for you automatically.

So in meditation basically you try to touch yourself who you are.Now, in meditation, we have some steps what i have understood in my meditation,
Maybe books tell something different.
I will tell you according to me what are the different steps in meditation .steps through meditation or you can say stages in meditation.

The first step is that you have to learn to control.
control of your thoughts.
You should know that i am not my thoughts i am different than my thoughts.
Second control the mind 
Itís not controlling the mind but controlling the thoughts.
To understand this i will make you understand deeply.

You are made up of four levels of consciousness.

1. The body consciousness
2. The mind consciousness
3. The sense consciousness 
4. The soul consciousness.

          Now, you have to understand the purpose of yoga is to merge all these consciousness into one. You merge them into one because you have to understand, Are you the body or you have a body? You have a body. But what happens your body tell you that you are me? So then it develops an ego and a separate identity and then it troubles you. Today all the thoughts about money, security, safety, these are all illusions and thoughts of the body. All thoughts of your mind are created by ego. The first is that you think you are the body which is incorrect.
